June News and Notes from the Campaign Trail

Thanks Everyone for Being a Part of My Kickoff Fundraiser!

Rain didn’t deter my friends, family, and supporters from stopping by Ole Savannah and making the night a huge success. It was a lovely night and I am very grateful to see so many people step forward to help. Thank you!

I’m excited to join with the New Paltz Democratic Women for a Meet and Greet to discuss my campaign.  If you are in the neighborhood RSVP and JOIN US!

This month I’ll be traveling to visit Democratic Committees Marlborough, Gardiner, Plattekill, Esopus, New Paltz, Rochester, and Saugerties. If you would like to host a meet and greet in your community please contact my Campaign Coordinator Jen Fuentes at 845.332.6600. We would love to arrange a meeting with your group to talk about my vision for the Ulster County Comptroller’s Office.

Endorsed!

Citizen Action of New York Hudson Valley Chapter:

I am honored to receive the endorsement of Citizen Action because we share many areas of common vision. Citizen Actions’ work on a progressive tax system, quality education, and healthcare align with my goals of transparency and more effective services through good fiscal oversight. Furthermore, recognizing and working to address institutional racism will be an essential component of my smart audit approach to county programs and operations.

Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council

From HCBCTC President, Todd Diorio:  “On behalf of the 28 locals affiliated with the Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council and the 10,000+ members we represent, we are proud to endorse you in your upcoming election.” And I am proud to have their support!!

News from the Trail:

  • It’s Official: Committee Members from the Ulster County Democratic Committee (UCDC) will gather at Kingston City Hall on June 27, 2019 at 7:30pm to nominate a Democratic Candidate for Ulster County Comptroller to represent them for the November 5th General Election. Please make every effort to attend if you are a voting member of the committee. As the compressed timeline doesn’t allow for a Primary Election, without the affirmative support of the UCDC, March’s campaign will come to an end.
  • Comptroller DiNapoli’s Office offers a wealth of information to help shape informed policy making and give the public an accurate snapshot of our economic conditions.  According to a NY Office of State Comptroller report released this week- 54.7% of renting Ulster families are facing severe cost burden for housing- meaning more than 30% of income. ULSTER COUNTY IS THE 6th MOST BURDENED COUNTY IN THE STATE FOR RENTERS.
