KINGSTON, N.Y. — Potential candidates are lining up to become the next Ulster County comptroller.

A day after Elliott Auerbach said he’ll be leaving the post on May 16 to become a deputy state comptroller, Democrat March Gallagher announced her intention to run for the office.

Gallagher is the second Democrat to express an interest in becoming the county’s fiscal watchdog.
